This Cookie Policy explains how Bedtime Besties® uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use our website.

Bedtime Besties® is operated by Byline Publishing (Services) Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 07357184, with its registered office at Triangle Studios, 24 Ashburnham Place, London, SE10 8TZ, United Kingdom.

This Cookie Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains more generally how we collect and use personal information.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites can store on your device when you visit them. They can be used for purposes such as keeping items in your shopping basket, allowing you to log in, remembering preferences and understanding how a website is used.

Similar technologies can perform related functions. These may include pixels, scripts, tags, web storage and other technologies that store information on, or access information from, your device.

In this policy, we use the term “cookies” to refer to cookies and these similar technologies unless we specifically say otherwise.

How We Use Cookies

We use cookies to operate the Bedtime Besties website and online store, provide features you request, remember certain choices, understand how our website is used and, where you have given the required consent, support analytics, personalisation and advertising.

Some cookies are necessary for our website and online store to work. Other cookies are optional and are only used in accordance with your cookie choices.

Required Cookies

Required cookies are necessary for our website and online store to function properly or to provide a service you have requested.

They may be used for purposes including:

keeping products in your shopping basket;
allowing checkout and payment processes to work;
supporting customer account and login functionality;
remembering privacy and cookie choices;
maintaining website security and preventing fraud; and
providing other functionality necessary to operate our online store.

Because these technologies are necessary to provide the website or services you request, they do not generally require your consent. You can still configure your browser to block some or all cookies, but doing so may prevent parts of our website from working correctly.

Personalisation Cookies

Personalisation cookies can help us remember information about how you use the website and provide a more personalised experience on future visits.

Where consent is required, these cookies will only be used if you choose to allow them through our Cookie Preferences.

Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the Bedtime Besties website, such as which pages are visited and how customers interact with the site. We use this information to understand performance and identify areas that we can improve.

We use services including Google Analytics and Shopify's analytics technologies. Where consent is required, analytics cookies and similar technologies will only be used if you choose to allow them.

Marketing Cookies

Marketing cookies and similar technologies may be used to measure advertising, understand interactions with our marketing and, where applicable, show advertising that is more relevant to you.

We use advertising and marketing services including Google and Meta. These providers may use cookies, pixels or similar technologies in connection with their services.

Marketing and advertising technologies that require consent will only be used where you have chosen to allow them through our Cookie Preferences.

Third-Party Cookies and Technologies

Some cookies and similar technologies used on our website are provided by third parties that help us operate, analyse and market Bedtime Besties.

These providers may include:

Shopify, which provides our ecommerce platform, checkout, customer account functionality and related services;
Google, including Google Analytics and advertising services;
Meta, in connection with advertising and measurement services; and
other service providers and apps that support functionality on our website.

Third-party providers may process information in accordance with their own privacy policies. More information about how we share and process personal information is available in our Privacy Policy.

Your Cookie Choices

When you visit our website, our Cookie Preferences allow you to choose which optional categories of cookies you wish to allow.

You can:

accept optional cookies;
decline optional cookies; or
choose which categories of optional cookies you wish to allow.

You can change or withdraw your choices at any time by opening our Cookie Preferences.

Changing your choices will apply to future use of optional cookies and similar technologies. It does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you changed your preferences.

Browser Controls

Most web browsers also allow you to control cookies through their settings. Depending on your browser, you may be able to view, delete or block cookies, block third-party cookies, or configure how cookies are handled.

Please be aware that blocking required cookies may affect the operation of the Bedtime Besties website and may prevent features such as the shopping basket, checkout, customer accounts or other services from working correctly.

How Long Cookies Remain on Your Device

The length of time a cookie remains on your device depends on its purpose and configuration.

Some cookies are session cookies and are removed when you close your browser. Others are persistent cookies and remain for a specified period or until you delete them.

The cookies and technologies used on our website may change as Shopify, our services and the apps and providers we use are updated. We periodically review the technologies used on our website and our privacy arrangements.

Cookies and Personal Information

Some cookies and similar technologies may involve the processing of personal information, such as online identifiers, device information or information about how you interact with our website.

Where personal information is processed, it is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection law.

Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the technologies we use, our services, or applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

When we make changes, we will publish the updated policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.
